Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Player the Athlete
The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night confirming they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and had been in communication with the NFL.
The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention the athlete directly, shared a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Reportedly Unavailable
No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the initial part of this season due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that left multiple people hurt. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
Statistically, he finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
