Reports indicate that beloved stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are returning to their iconic characters in the latest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
A Significant Comeback for the Franchise
Lawrence and Hutcherson are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, respectively. Speculation suggests their cameos will probably be featured in a flash-forward sequence, given that the main film series concluded with their characters married and with children.

The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping draws its story from a recent book by series creator Suzanne Collins. It will be the second prequel film after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who was behind most of the previous films in the series.
