Important: This piece does not contain reveals related to the series conclusion
The final episode of this celebrity version of The Traitors was mistakenly made available by overseas broadcasters before its scheduled UK broadcast on Thursday night, according to a network statement.
Reports indicate that the finale was watched by a few hundred viewers of the streaming service Crave in Canada; they could watch it for a short period until it was removed.
This episode being uploaded was not a mistake by the original broadcaster, and a spokesperson for the company urged those who think they have discovered the outcome of the series to "avoid sharing any reveals".
"We kindly ask those who believes they have uncovered the ending of The Celebrity Traitors to keep any information they have to themselves," the announcement said.
"We ask you to refrain from sharing potential spoilers so that the vast audience who have been faithfully following every twist and turn of the series can enjoy the final this night."
This celebrity version is currently the most-watched TV program of the current year, with an mean of 12.6m people across the first four episodes.
Viewers of the series have been waiting to see whether traitors the traitors will win the £100,000 prize for a good cause or whether faithfuls the faithful contestants will be triumphant.
A former winner of the third series of the show commented that "everyone dislikes reveals", which are "the thief of joy".
He said he will be sitting down to watch the finale tonight as it airs, with his entire family and "a bucket of popcorn".
Thursday's concluding installment is lengthened to 70 minutes on BBC One, with an extended edition of the companion show set to air on the secondary channel following the final.
Host Ed Gamble will be accompanied by the cast and the co-host as they react to the show's outcome.
