Aircraft Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
A jet carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the plane's windshield, as stated by an official announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane touched down in accordance with standard protocol and everyone onboard, among them Pete Hegseth, is safe," a press officer commented in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to the city of Brussels at the time.
This event does not mark the first time that a American defense plane ferrying a senior official has experienced equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane transporting the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was required to turn back to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical fault.
